Valero-Terribas Returns to the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica with a Major Symphonic-Choral Programme

San José, Costa Rica – May 2025
Spanish conductor Francisco Valero-Terribas returns as guest conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica for the fourth concert of the 2025 Official Season, taking place on 30 May and 1 June at the historic National Theatre of Costa Rica in San José.

This invitation follows his well-received debut with the orchestra in 2022, when he led a critically acclaimed programme featuring works by BarberGershwin, and Dvořák. The new engagement reinforces the artistic bond between Maestro Valero-Terribas and one of Central America’s leading musical institutions.

On this occasion, Valero-Terribas will conduct both the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphonic Choir, presenting a programme that combines lyricism, spirituality, and orchestral power: Giacomo Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, composed in the Italian master’s early years, and Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, Op. 100, a profound wartime work written in 1944.

Francisco Valero-Terribas is regarded as one of Spain’s most versatile conductors, with a strong international career. His style is marked by precise musicality, interpretive depth, and a particular ability to connect with both musicians and audiences. He has conducted ensembles such as the KBS Symphony OrchestraBorusan Istanbul PhilharmonicBucheon Philharmonic, and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, among others.

In the coming months, he will continue his season with engagements including the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir.
