The ‘Messe in C’ op. 86 will bring to a close the International Festival of Sacred Music of Bogotá 2024 which takes place during the month of September in the Colombian capital and which brings together a large line-up of soloists, orchestras and specialised ensembles in an edition which this year has as its theme ‘La Consagración’ (The Consecration).
The closing concert, which will take place on October 6th in the centrally located Church of San Ignacio, will include, in addition to the aforementioned Mass in C, the overture ‘Die Weihe des Hauses’ op. 124 by the same composer. Valero-Terribas will be conducting two ensembles belonging to the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá: the Coro Filarmónico Juvenil and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Mujeres.
The Grand Closing Concert is expected to be a multitudinous ceremony that will bring to an end a month full of concerts, conferences and exhibitions that make this Festival a benchmark in its genre.
On his return to Spain, Valero-Terribas will conduct the second subscription concert of the 24/25 season of the Orquesta de Córdoba in the Gran Teatro of the Andalusian capital. On October 17th and 18th, under the title ‘Introspection and Vitality’, he will present a programme that includes a premiere by the young composer M. Jesús Amaro as well as the Suite from Fauré's ‘Pelléas et Mélisande’ and Francis Poulenc's Sinfonietta.
